Today went relatively well. Tutorial was good again, though not quite as awesome as last day. Oral went all right.
Still doing fine on the pills. This is good! I hope it will continue to be good. I like not feeling all... well, you know. All panicky and stuff.
Today has mostly been lazy, but I did get some homework done, so that's pretty good. This weekend is going to be busy, what with prepping the seminar paper and all. We'll see how that goes. Mn.
So, I'm working on the Estonia story I mentioned yesterday, and I find myself feeling a little - oh, I don't know. Unsure, I suppose. I mean, the prompt did say "anyone/Estonia", and I'm sure that does mean anyone. On the other hand, I guess I'm just worried I'll get responses like, "Wtf, why did you put him with him?"
*flail* But it isn't as if I have a lot to work with! I mean, in the few comics where he makes an appearance, there aren't many scenes where he's seen with anyone other than Russia and the other Baltics. I don't like Russia with any of the Baltic States for reasons that I hope are obvious, and Baltic-cest just kind of squicks me (which is a little odd, considering how much I love Canada/US, even though they're brothers, but... I don't know, that's different, somehow).
So with that in mind, my options are really limited if I'm going to stick with people Estonia knows relatively well. I mean, I could just stick him with some random character; I've seen cases where such things have worked (Canada/Seychelles, anyone?) but honestly, I can't trust myself to do a good job of that.
So I'm stuck with those he is familiar with, who are not his brothers and Russia. So that leaves, uh, two people to pick from. *facepalm* I kind of dug myself into a hole with this one. I mean, I'm making this work! I can totally make it work. On the other hand, just thinking about it offhand, I catch myself thinking, "Dude, wtf. How does that work?" I know I'll manage, it's just that the match I picked seems like a really weird one at first.
Wait, why the hell am I thinking so deeply about this? I need to just shut up and write. xD

Date: 2009-02-07 05:24 am (UTC)I read one once where Estonia had a threesome with Sweden and Finland, with some explanation about how Estonians are totally in love with Scandanavia and wish they could be part of it. Or something. But it was good!

Date: 2009-02-07 05:30 am (UTC)Anyway. Originally, I was kicking around the idea of putting him with Finland, but I don't have a good sense of Finland's character yet - and there was also the problem of Sweden; I wasn't sure what to do with him (without it ending up as another three-way, which I think is beyond my capabilities anyway).
So I decided to put him with Poland.
*flail*
I don't know, it seems a weird match to me, but so far it's turning out all right. It helps that my Poland is somewhat calmer and a little less ditzy than people tend to write him.

Date: 2009-02-07 05:36 am (UTC)Also, it reminds me of how inevitably in groups of friends someone always ends up dating their friend's ex or something. Or in this case, his sort of brother's ex (I always think of the Baltics, China-Japan-Korea, and US-Canada as 'sort of brothers', usually in the latter two cases so I can slash them, even though I think of the Italys, UK-Sealand, and Russia-Ukraine-Belarus as actual blood siblings. I don't know why.)

Date: 2009-02-07 05:47 am (UTC)Re, siblings: In my case, I tend to think of US/Canada as "sort of" brothers as well, but as for the Baltics, I generally see them as blood siblings. Which is probably why the idea of slashing them makes me uncomfortable. x.x (Not sure what my stance is on China-Japan-Korea though. Haven't read much with them).
Switzerlannnnnnnndddddd. I am secretly in love with him and his "Get off my lawn!" attitude.

Date: 2009-02-07 05:59 am (UTC)Really, all of Northern Europe is kind of interesting. How did all those wild Viking countries turn into today's laid back liberal socialist-without-being-commie-scary modern countries? Did they just chill out and discover gay marriage was awesome in their middle age?
I love Switzerland too. I'd like to see a little more of him with Austria, though I love Austria-Hungary so much. And Austria/Prussia....that aristocrat gets around.
