N'est pas oui. C'est ouais!
I had my first French class yesterday. It was... a little intense. I think it will prove useful, though. Speaking of which, I need to formally register for it, hmmm...
And as for the above, that's what I wanted to say when I kept hearing people say "oui". Bloody hell, this is Canada, we say OUAIS, damnit! =p
(I really, really wish I could learn Canadian French. Sigh.)

I slept in today. That felt soooooo good. I think I needed it. I have a shrink appointment in half an hour (and another tomorrow), but no classes today, which is good. After the appointment I'm going to go back to Broadway and buy the rest of my textbooks. And then... ehhhh. Probably to the Roastery, because I don't have any more coffee; well, I do, but I can't be bothered to grind the beans just now. And I need to get a toonie anyway, because I plan to do a couple illustrations involving one. Whether that will actually happen is questionable, though, considering I have a ton of reading.

Guh. Lots to do in the next few days. Let's see.
-Make a lesson plan for tomorrow's tutorial (I'm going to make them read John Donne, oh no)
-Finish Sense and Sensibility
-Pick up Aboriginal textbooks
-Start reading Halfbreed
-Read the assload of articles that I need to do for my 18th-Century Lit class
-Start reading Gulliver's Travels

And, in the meanwhile, I also want to edit the Hetalia story (taking parzi's suggestions into account) and do my toonie illustration. Mph. As for the story, I really don't know whether I want to change the pov. It's difficult for me to get through right now, but that might be because I've been staring at it too long. On the other hand, while I still think a first-person pov would be easier to read in this case, I think that it would remove some of the... eh. What word. Ambiguity? No, that's not the right one, but I'll stick with it.
Also, I'm not sure about the title. It might need to be changed. Or, direct reference to Britain as a wihtikow should be put into the text. I really feel that is an almost perfect word to describe Britain's "My imperialism, let me show you it" attitude, but again, if I can't make it work, it should be clipped out.
And I really wish I could find a better term to use than "Turtle Island", but that's what it is. I tried googling for the actual word in Ojibway or Cree, and came up with nothing, and unfortunately my professor does not know enough Cree to say what it might be. On the other hand, perhaps it's better to use the English term, because it shows how colonization is so deeply intrenched that even the name is English....
