Victoria adventures 01

So! I'm in Victoria again for a vacation, hooray! :V

I looked up the temperature before leaving and was like, "Man, I don't know how to dress for something that warm". How does one even dress for temperatures above zero, anyway. It's all fresh and green over here? It was raining and not cold? What is this, even.

I kind of wish I'd packed a lunch for the plane, but then again, I don't know if that kind of thing would make it through security. It's just that I ended up spending way too much cash on lunch compared to my recent bus trip to Edmonton in which I'd just packed the same kind of stuff to eat on the bus that I would've taken with me to work. ...Well. I digress.

Anyway! It turns out that I decided to come during the last few days of the Victoria Film Festival, so this evening I went to see Den sidste viking | The Last Viking at the Vic Theatre after grabbing a quick supper at my favourite taco joint. Will attempt to write my thoughts on the film up in a separate post. It was a good film, though.

Anyway, I really enjoy the Vic - it's a small, independent theatre, and they tend to bring in stuff I wouldn't see at home. I ended up watching Ex Machina there several years ago, and the end result of that was one of my most popular fics on Ao3, so... like, maybe that would've happened regardless, but it's very possible I wouldn't have ever picked that movie up if it hadn't been playing at this random little one-screen indie theatre, you know?

I still haven't actually made any plans for what I'm going to do for the rest of my time here (aside from go to the opera, wheee) so I guess I'll have to figure that out tomorrow morning. Whee! :V
