My Go set came in. I opened it up, and it's perfect. Lightweight, good size, slightly magnetic. I do wish it was slightly smaller, but overall I'm happy with it. I've never actually owned a Go set, aside from the cardboard one I had as a kid, so this is a first. I just wish I had somebody to play it with. I'll try seeing if B is willing to try - it doesn't really seem her style, though.

Anyway.

The watercolour palette came in. It looks like it'll be pretty good. It's lightweight, about the same size as the ice cube tray I've been using, but with shallower wells. It also has a cover. I'm looking forward to using it. There's a chance I'll be able to do some plein air painting on Saturday, but we'll see.

[Music] Mariel Buckley - Strange Trip Ahead - Upcoming album

Just the other day I was wondering when Mariel Buckley will come out with something new. Looks like she has an album, titled Strange Trip Ahead, that'll be released in October!

Two tracks are up on Bandcamp already, and if this is the vibe for the whole album, then I'm really looking forward to it. It's consistent with her usual style, but new material.

Her sound is unpolished rough-at-the-edges country; it reminds me of the stuff from the '90s and earlier that I grew up with, except also with a vaguely gay vibe. Very nostalgic without actually being from the period.
