Fort Chipewyan is under evacuation order due to wildfires*.

Fort Chip is part of my municipality, but it's far enough away from us that I'm not concerned about the fire coming my way. I just, I dunno. I feel really bad for everyone who has to evacuate, and I'm worried about it - it seems like something that wouldn't be easy to do. Fort Chip can't be accessed by road; it's only accessible by boat and plane.

I'm hoping that the evac order was issued early enough that like, they'll be able to safely get everyone out in time. And that there won't be any loss to the town, obviously.

I just feel so helpless, I don't know what to do... I mean obviously I'm not in a position to do anything really, but like. Maybe there's some kind of volunteer stuff that can be done - or some organization collecting funds, since these people will need places to stay etc while they're displaced. I'll have to look when I have a little more time.
