Man, I wish mainstream fragrance companies made a wider variety of their colognes available in small bottles. I was trying to decide which one to wear today and it struck me as a little ridiculous.

Like, I have a 2oz bottle each of Bulgari's "Man in Black" and Rabanne's "Invictus Victory". I'm never going to get through those. They're going to follow me to the end of the earth. Hell, I'm still working on the 2oz bottle of Yves Saint Laurent's "L'homme" that I bought in grad school. (I still quite like it; past!me had great taste.)

And the only reason I picked up the 2oz of those first two is because a 10ml wasn't available. I'd love to take either of them along when I travel, but I'm not hauling those big bottles around. And there's something satisfying about finishing off a small bottle, y'know?

It's not a big deal or anything, I just wish the universe catered to me!

I'm contemplating buying myself some perfume for Christmas and have been thinking the same thing. Have you considered purchasing from a decanter?

I've considered the general concept of decanters, but it tends not to occur to me in the moment. Generally what happens is I'll go to the store to see if I like the smell of something, and then I just purchase it right there if I like it. In hindsight, it probably would have been wise to look into getting a decant of the first two fragrances mentioned in this post. Ah, well! Have you tried decants yourself?

I haven't ordered from one of the websites that sell decants, but I've gone to a department store and asked for samples! They give them out in little 5-10ml sprayers. I found some good stuff that way :)

I'm always like "eh... no" when I see the prices the decant websites charge lol. It's still cheaper to do it this way, you can get like 5-6 samples for the price of one full-sized one.
