yuuagoI really miss playing Go. I do have a version of it on my computer where I can play against the robot, but it isn't the same.
Sometimes I feel like I miss Kai, but I'm pretty sure what I really miss is having someone to do things like play Go with.
And I also really miss Parzi, and in that case it's genuinely miss. She introduced me to Hikaru no Go, among other things. And she was so nice.
I have vague recollections of reading the Hikaru no Go manga, but I think it was just a few chapters. Fan translations were harder to get hold of back then. But I see now that it was eventually published in English. I would have to interlibrary loan it in order to read it, but... I think I will do that. Why not. It would be nice to finally read it properly.
And apparently the Hikaru no Go 2020 Chinese adaptation, Qi Hun/棋魂, is very good. Like, really REALLY good. And now I'm very curious... maybe I'll try to track it down. One person even compared its production values to Nirvana in Fire, which I'll admit made me raise my eyebrows a little, but... who knows.
And also I'm going to order myself a Go set. Just one of those magnetic travel-sized ones. Maybe I'll be able to convince Bea to play with me. I don't know if it's really her thing, but it's worth a try.
