So, I hear Sha Po Lang is going to get an official English release (along with two of Priest's other novels, Guardian and Faraway Wanderers/Word of Honour).

I tried to read this CNovel ages ago; I saw it on a rec list and the general premise grabbed me. Didn't get very far into it, though; just couldn't absorb myself with it like I expected to. And it was hosted on Wattpad, which isn't my preferred platform for... well, anything.

Still, I'm kind of curious. Maybe the official release will be easier to get through. At any rate, I do prefer reading things on paper.

I know that a lot of people weren't happy with the Seven Seas official English publications of the MXTX novels, but Sha Po Lang will be done by a different translator, so... I dunno'! We'll see, I guess.

Not that I'm about to run out and order it, mind you. But if the library picks it up, I'll definitely take a look.

SPL can be a bit difficult to get through, but I do think it's one of priest's most solid novels on a literary level, at least from the ones I've read. I'm not fannish about it, but I thought it was really good, and I'll probably pick up the official translation eventually. Though I'm definitely going to prioritize getting Thousand Autumans first, since I really loved that one, but never got to finish it. (That one's not written by priest, but it being licensed was announced at the same time as SPL and Guardian.)
