Continuing to snail my way through TMA.
In which I continue to feel bad for Gertrude's assistants.
I hadn't given much thought to Gerry before - could barely remember who he was until recently (when I went looking for Michael fanart and found that people ship them??) - but oh no, he's left an impression on me, this is terrible. (...I hope Jon succeeds in burning that page.)
I liked the back-and-forth he and Jon had, almost banter-y at times, and it makes me wish that this wouldn't be the last we see of him. I feel like they would get along.
And also I like his voice.
Man, Gerry got such a raw deal. He dealt with so much awful stuff, got dumped into all this shit without any particular choice in the matter, and THEN to get stuck in a book... It's just awful. I want to hug the poor guy and give him a cup of tea, damn.
Gerry/Michael continues to confuse me and I've come to the conclusion that the basis is "It's possible that they exchanged words at some point, and there's something inherently appealing about pairing the Gothest Goth with the Bright Twisty Nightmare". Which, well, I can't argue with that.
