Library haul
Mar. 16th, 2019 09:35 amI picked up a bunch of neat things at the library yesterday. Yay!
- The King of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner. I'm slowly making my way through the Queen's Thief series, so I'm looking forward to this one. Trying to ration myself with it because - well, there are only so many books, and it'll be a while before the next one comes out, so I might as well take my time and enjoy. :)
- Trickster Drift by Eden Robinson. Sequel to Son of a Trickster. The protagonist is a magnet for spirits and ghosts and all kind of weird things on account of certain parentage. The first one left me curious enough to keep going with the series, though I must admit I prefer this author's other work, which is a different genre and target audience. (Blood Sports and Traplines are gritty, reality-based, and meant for an adult audience; the Trickster series is YA fantasy.)
- The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo. This one seems to be fantasy with a bit of mystery, and it's set in 1930s Malaysia. Sounds neat! We'll see how it goes. I'm not familiar with this author's work.
- Spark Joy by Marie Kondo. I found Tidying Up useful enough that I decided to read her second book. This one is an expansion of the first, and it includes diagrams for the folding. I'll be taking notes on anything I find useful, as I did with her other book, and I'll post them once I'm finished with it.
And one I'm still working my way through from a previous week:
- Things that keep and do not change by Susan Musgrave. This one is poetry. Not a favourite so far, but there's a tone/flow in the work that I like a lot, so I'll stick with it, and wouldn't object to picking up other volumes of her work in the future.
