[DWGL] Ep 13 - Commentary

yuuagoRight! As mentioned previously, ep 13 of Di Wang Gong Lüe is up here. :D
Chu Yuan cares so much... and while that's to be expected, I appreciate seeing it, in those little moments like we see in the first scene here. He's just so determined to get to the bottom of everything.
I appreciate watching them untangle the threads of the plot together. Now, if only they had more clues..! (Well, I'm sure we'll get to that in a bit.)
One thing that I'm coming to appreciate more and more is Si Xi's small subtle meddling behind the scenes for Chu Yuan's benefit. He's a real MVP, haaa. Anyway.
"I have already sent Duan Nian into Dayan City" - hm, who is this? I don't remember the name - Oh, it's that guy we see with Duan Baiyue occasionally, the one who wears his hair up, and he's come to dump some plot info. A relative, I'm assuming, based on the name? Anyway, I'm glad I have something to call him now, because even though he's only appeared a few times, it was starting to nag at me, haa.
So, midnight house invasion + corrupt offical + Heaven Temple Sect = hmm, interesting! Okay, so Grandmaster Lan sent someone to try to get this guy to hand over a wad of cash. I wonder what the Grandmaster's motivations are beyond just the money; there's probably something. Aaand someone has been spying... :D I'm glad to see Yao-er again! (Well, I'm always glad to see Yao-er.) Ahh those two on the roof together, how dramatic.
Regardless of whether or not Grandmaster Lan has given up on that kidnapping plan, I can't blame Duan Yao for wanting to get as far from this city as possible if she is anywhere near it.
But first, I suppose, Duan Baiyue will investigate Qiufeng Village to find out more about this supposed mountain of gold.
...Oh my god.
1. Pfff, Duan Baiyue's disguise sure is something.
2. "Even if you were burned to ash, I could recognize you." Chu Yuan, it is way too early in the morning for you to be saying such romantic things. <3 (Also, he's so cute in this just-woke-up state, buhyoo~)
And of course Chu Yuan decides to go along too. He sure has a thing for disguising himself... but, all things considered, I suppose it makes sense that he would want to appear to be someone else at times, both just to be someone else and also to get into places he normally wouldn't be able to access.
Once more, I find myself sucked into the mystery side of the plot. What, precisely, is the purpose behind those mysterious boxes... no to mention everything going on with the Heaven Temple Sect - I want more details about their involvement, and will perhaps Grandmaster Lan make an appearance? WHO KNOWS! (I wish I did!)
