Not bad per se; every pokemon is great in its own way. But-
-In both GO and the regular games, they're super common, so they cease being exciting after the first 10 or so -They're tricky to catch because they keep flying around, so it often isn't worth the effort to try to catch them for XP -They don't have a significant type advantage in battle against the kinds of pokemon that people usually put in gyms -GO doesn't have Status damage like the regular games do, so Zubats can't poison their opponents for extra damage, unlike in regular games -Aaand to top it all off, they aren't particularly cute, and they don't evolve into anything cute or exceptionally useful either.
So they're usually a case of "Aw man, another one?" ;p
