Too. Hot.

I took a late-night walk. Well, not too late night (don't think 10PM counts as late night) but still. The sun was nearly down, but there was still a bit of brightness in the sky.

TOO. WARM. Good lord, it's only +22C, but still. Way too warm for me. Even so, it was very nice.

One of the things I noticed was that there are hardly any mosquitoes here. If this was back home in Fort McMurray, I would've been eaten alive by those goddamn bloodsuckers. That's because everything is so close to the forest, I guess. Here, well, it's the middle of the city, so... not so much wilderness. Though I guess if I had gone down by the river I would've run into some of that.

You know, I had a ton of stuff I was going to say, but I've forgotten most of it. I hate how that happens. Anyway, went to the Roastery this evening and set myself up with a delicious London Fog. Man, I love those drinks. Sat down and just wrote. I've finished the drabbles, though I need to edit them quite a bit. I also finished a meme fill, but, ehhh, not sure about it. I need to edit it then send it off to Fyre for proofreading.

I've felt a little stalled with my writing recently, and I'm not particularly sure why. I think I've just been taking on too many projects at once or something. Or maybe I just need to read something different. I think I'll try that. Maybe some Ibsen, eh? I have a volume of three of his plays and I'm only part-way through it. His stuff is so good. Maybe tomorrow I'll just sit outside with a tall glass of something cold and read a while. Though I do plan to take a long walk tomorrow too, if it isn't too hot.

Mm. Tomorrow need to vacuum, and do laundry, and probably wash the floor as well. Hopefully I'll be able to get it done early, as then I'll have time in the afternoon to do all the things I want to do.

Nothing remarkable happened today, aside from the fact that I had a bilingual conversation with a friend. Only it wasn't really bilingual because I ran everything she said through Google!Translate. Even so, it was hella' fun. She'd type things to me in Swedish, and I'd answer back in English. The fact that I enjoyed it so much makes me feel kinda' nerdy, but that's all right, I suppose!

I am always boggled by people who consider +22 degrees to be hot. I mean, 22 is cold for me. The other week my AC was broken and my room kept hitting 27, 28 degrees celcius. Sometimes, it's over 35 outdoors *at night.* Ugh! I much rather the cold than the hot, I admit.

The mosquito count is WAY down here this year. I haven't seen a single one.

Mosquitoes, along with ticks, are evil little vermin that I wouldn't mind if I never saw them again.

Which play by Ibsen are you going to read?

22C? Hot? Over here the news reporters would be all OMG it's so cold!! When it gets that cold I have to wear a jacket under my lab gown.

You know, every time you talk about the Roastery, I read "Roostery" and seriously wonder why the fuck you keep hanging out with chickens and roosters to write.

I loved "The Wild Duck"! we read it in school, I think its considered quite different than "Pillars of the Community" though. I really want to read "Peer Gynt" and "Hedda Gabler" as well.
