I watched Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves after seeing it recommended around as being way better than one would expect it to be.
You know what? Those recs were right.
It's a bright and fun fantasy/heist film. The main cast is pretty likeable, and the friendships/relationships work pretty well; I could buy the way things unfolded. The humour usually lands, or at least is unobtrusive. There are a few serious moments, but the film doesn't get bogged down with it. I feel like the story and characters had room to breathe, but the movie didn't overstay its welcome.
Mind you, it isn't life-changing or anything. But if you want a good time, it's not a bad choice at all!
No knowledge of D&D necessary, which is great for me 'cause if I'll be honest, my interest in that is 0%. Possibly D&D fans will catch references to things that I missed, but it works on its own as fantasy movie.
