There was a wildfire evac alert for Saprae Creek today. That's an area about 20 minutes outside Fort Mac proper. There was an emergency alert sent to everyone's phones, which was pretty startling and unexpected. Aaand then I had family members calling me and asking me to explain it to them, since they didn't understand what was going on.
Everyone's on edge about it. Ever since the 2016 fire, people have been jumpy around this time of year. ...Anyway, I'm not in the affected area, but I've packed a bag just in case, because you never know. It kind of threw off my groove for the whole afternoon/evening, though. I was planning to go for a run and then relax and watch Crusade with some wine (now that I've finished the B5 main series). But. Well. That sure didn't happen!
