Blah blah blah my ridiculous OTP
Dec. 30th, 2021 08:30 pmMan, I've had the hugest craving for Denmark/Norway fanwork for the last week or so. Terrible. So much thirst! No way to slake it! (Due to my very particular tastes AKA canon universe + no human names. Sigh.) I've resorted to re-reading Madamefolie's fics and internally wailing.
Grumble grumble, if I want something to exist, I need to do it myself....
Fortunately, a while back I wrote down a great fic idea on an index card! And I found it while I was tidying the other day! It's a really good premise!
Downside: It's set during the 16th century, and I'll have to do some research. Oh no, however am I going to cope. ;V ;V
It's an interesting period for them, though. I see them post-Kalmarunion as - obviously very familiar with each other, and formally Attached (married, married, married! whether they like it or not), but still figuring their personal relationship out. The pace they take when circling toward intimacy would be glacial if they were human, and even considering they're not, they'd be... taking their time. (Partly because there are a hell of a lot more important things demanding their attention.)
...Anyway, hopefully this will take shape in the upcoming year. After some research-related poking around. It's been a while since I wrote anything with these two, and I miss them so much. Maybe I'll try to have it drafted in time for Iddy Iddy Bang Bang, who knows.
They're just so... Mutual fondness, and simultaneously, mutual friction. Liking someone very much, but finding they eternally get on your nerves, and being stuck with them for a few... centuries... and then of course all of the difficulties that come with being who and what they are. (Result: "I actually like you very much, but everything sucks.") And as much as it's canon that Norway is annoyed by Denmark, I think that Denmark would find Norway very annoying too - but he'd express it differently. Like, the feeling is there, but he likes Norway enough that it's very easy to redirect that annoyance, or let it roll off, because that's the kind of guy that he is.
They're such a perfect mess.
