(no subject)

I was looking through some old posts from 2006-2010 the other day, and... Man, those years sucked. They sucked so, so bad.

There were some good things, but a lot of them come with caveats, and there was so much packed into those few years that it's hard to be positive about any of it considering how utterly garbage I felt.

I got engaged, dumped my fiance after less than a year, both my grandmothers died, I completed my undergrad degree (this is one of the good things), got accepted to grad school, moved to another city and promptly lost all of my previous shaky social connections, failed to make any new social connections, got into a rebound relationship, got emotionally fucked over by that rebound relationship, discovered that mental illness is a thing that I have going on (and boy did that ever explain some things), went on various forms of medication, stopped taking the medication because the side-effects were worse, failed out of grad school, spent a lot of time wanting to just drop dead....

It was very, very bad.

Not that everything is perfect now. It certainly isn't. But at least those years are over and done with.
