I had today off, and I wanted to go for a walk, but it's -30C out and I just can't be having with that. Let's have a reading entry instead.

Did Not Finish: The Human Cosmos: Civilization and the Stars by Jo Marchant. Bailed a few pages in because they used Robert Graves as a source on ancient Celtic mythology. That's what, one step above Gerald Gardner?

Just finished: The Ghost Tree by Christina Henry. This should have been right up my alley (horror set in a creepy small town), but I didn't like it much, and it was kind of weird. I had no sense of who the intended audience was. The writing had the feel of something intended for more juvenile audiences (like, 10?) but the actual content was more explicit than something I'd usually see in work marketed to that age group.

Currently reading: Love After The End: An Anthology of Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer Speculative Fiction. It's what it says on the tin. Only just started it, and I'm expecting it'll be a mixed bag, since anthologies usually are. Only finished the first story so far, which was fun (AI rats! In space!)

Reading next: The Lion's Den by Katherine St John. Summary + design choices hint at it being murder mystery but with a chick lit flavour; end result could either be really fun or not my thing. We'll see.
