Junji Ito's Uzumaki: Anime adaptation
Sep. 1st, 2019 05:26 pmHoly shit, Junji Ito's Uzumaki is getting an anime adaptation. [Details: 01, 02]
It's going to be directed by Hiroshi Nagahama, who also directed Mushishi. Seems like a good choice.
I love this manga, so I'm interested in the idea of this. Not sure how well it will translate to the screen, but I'm willing to find out. It seems like this particular kind of horror might be a little bit hard to convey - though the fact that it will be an anime does help. The live action adaptation was pretty terrible, though it did have its moments.
It's going to be in black and white, which is an unusual choice, but a perfect one for Uzumaki. The trailer doesn't give a whole lot currently, but hopefully more previews will come out later on.
Who else is looking forward to it? :)
