I look nice today.

I mean, yeah, there's a lot of issues with the way I look. But. I'm at a mental place today where I can realize that I'm not exactly objective about my appearance.

Somebody standing at a socially reasonable distance from me probably wouldn't notice a lot of the things that drive me nuts. It's okay. It's okay. I look like a normal human being.

And my hair looks nice. And I like the shirt that I'm wearing.

It's not much, but I'll take it.

Reading... Thursday? Shh, just roll with it.

Just Finished: The Book of Pride: LGBTQ Heroes Who Changed The World. By Mason Funk. This one is focused only on the USA, but in the introduction, the author expressed interest in a more global project. I hope that will happen some day!

Anyway, it's an excellent collection of snapshots from interviews with LGBTQ pioneers and elders in the USA. Well worth a read - I found it really interesting (and moving at times).

This book is part of The Outwords Archive. Might be worth poking around the website if this kind of thing interests you; it's pretty neat! There was a huge amount of material from this project, and not all of it could be included in the book. So, they put it on the website, which has transcripts of the interviews and a whole bunch of videos. Not all of interviews are up yet, but a good amount is there.

Library Haul: I haven't started any of these yet -

Little Red by Kerry Gilbert. Canadian poetry. Inspired by Little Red Riding Hood. ...Mostly picked it up because the cover was neat; we'll see if the style suits me.

Bad Endings by Carleigh Baker. Short stories. Cree-Metis author. Blurb says "Character digressions, bad decisions, and misconceptions abound". Could be neat.

Motorcycles and Sweetgrass by Drew Hayden Taylor. Novel. Ojibway author. His name sounds familiar, and he's written quite a few things, but somehow I've never read anything by him. Odd. Anyway, description is: "A story of magic, family, a mysterious stranger... and a band of marauding raccoons". Sounds fun; let's go.

Want to read: ...Eh. Mostly I just want to get through the above, as well as a few books that I found in my closet. Among other things, I have a huge illustrated edition of Paradise Lost that I'm determined to read before I pass it on.
