yuuago: (SweNor - Stay)
Oh boy, was this week ever a long one. I was working extra hours, for one thing, and the lack of daylight just makes everything worse! Oh, well. Best to prepare for several more months of this. ;p

On the upside, I finished three out of four things that I wanted to do this evening, which is nice. One of those things was the last of the history article translations that I was doing for fun/practice. Hooray!

I hope this weekend will have a lot of writing. NaNo is... soon, and I need to get warmed up for it. 8) While I don't think I'll get anywhere near 50k in one month, I do want to complete as much as I can. Right now the goal is 10k, but we'll see if I can manage that...! (It's an awful lot.)

Didn't have the energy to do a weekly reading post, but - I finally started reading Prairie Fairies, and so far (about 100 pages in) it's very interesting. It basically looks at the LGB landscape in Manitoba/Saskatchewan/Alberta from the 30s-70s and how that changed over time. A lot of it is by necessity focused on the cities, because that's where we have the most information, but the extent that it does discuss rural life and what possibilities could be found there fascinates me (and kind of reminds me of the novel A Place Called Winter, actually, even though that story takes place at an earlier period).

Though I must say, it feels kind of weird to discover that one of places I loved taking walks when I lived in Saskatoon used to be a gay hookup hotspot.
