yuuago: (Netherlands - Rest)
Ugh, I feel like garbage.

These last few days, it's been really hard to keep all of the symptoms in check. I don't know if it's on account of stress or what, but it's getting really old.

I just feel really angry and sad and tired. This sucks.

Ah, well. There's no point stewing about it. I'll go on a nice, long walk this evening, and just... deal with it, I guess.

Digging through that one poetry anthology again.
(I'm dragging out my time with it... I don't want to toss it back to the library.)

I will confess, aside from being lovely, this poem makes me think of certain pairings that I like, in the sort of self-indulgent way that certain songs might.

So... anyway. Putting it up here because of reasons.

To the Tune of - 'Clear and Even Music'

Since you left, spring is half gone
and everything I see breaks my heart:
a chaos of plum petals falling by the steps like snowflakes
I brush them off and they cover me again.

Migrating wild geese bring me no word of you.
The road is so long that my dream cannot reach you.
The grief of departure is like spring grass -
the farther you go, the deeper it grows.

Currently Reading: Grave Goods by Ariana Franklin. Set in 1176; central character is a female doctor; she's basically solving a cold case murder on the king's orders. Well, sort of. Adelia (the ~mistress of the art of death~) is supposed to identify, or at least put a date to, a pair of human remains supposed to be Arthur and Guinevere, but in the process she just uncovers more mysteries. ANYWAY, it's a rather fun read. Part of a series, apparently, which I didn't know when I picked this one up - I might need to see if I can track down the others.

Reading Next: Well, I received my copy of Aaron Sullivan's Odie in the mail today, so - probably that! But it won't take long, considering it's so short. ;p Looking forward to enjoying Elli & Mikael's lovely art, though.

Aside from that, uh... The Northern Wars: 1558-1721 is currently at the top of the pile, so it looks like I'll pick through that. Or at least, it'll be my insomnia reading for the next few months. I got about halfway through it some time last year, then got distracted by something shiny. You know how it is. ;V
