yuuago: (Germany - Reading)
Going to keep it brief.

Just finished: Jaws by Peter Benchley. One of the cases where the film is better than the novel. Potentially interesting if you liked the movie and want to see how it compares to the original, but not a must-read. There were some tedious bits I found myself skipping through, and I'm not usually the sort to do that.

Currently reading: The Terror by Dan Simmons. Only about 1/7th into it so far, but I'm enjoying it. It has a multi-POV format, and I like that. Too early in to say much beyond that. It's... a very heavy hardback and lugging this thing around on my commute is a pain in the ass, but I don't expect it'll take me that long to be done with it.

Also currently reading: Sailing Alone Around the World by Joshua Slocum. It's what it says on the tin; a sailing memoir about Slocum's solo circumnavigation, undertaken in 1898. The book was written in 1900. Well, I always like a good nautical travel account, and this one's a bit unusual due to the solo aspect. It's a breezy read. I might need to check out more stuff from the genre later; it's been a while since I've read this sort of thing.

Reading next: No idea, but mmmmaybe some poetry; I haven't read any yet this year.
