Sumer is icumen in, lhude sing cuccu!
There just ain't any feeling like getting all ready to go to the library to do work, then getting there and realizing you left the notebook with all the information you need at home. I am clearly a wonderful example of planning and intelligence today. Well, the entire day has been one fail after another, so I think I'll just declare it an off-day. :| Tomorrow will be my do-over, and then I'll get it right.
Mostly been trying to catch up with work. Yes, my class is finished, and yes the exam for that class is finished, but I still have other work that needs to be done. Catch-up work from fuckups earlier in the year. I keep wanting to bang my head against a wall; feel so frustrated with having to do this. I should have done it when it was supposed to be done. But I do take comfort in the fact that I'm doing better than I was at this time last year. At this time last year, I was a complete recluse, could hardly even leave my house, let alone do schoolwork. This... this is definitely an improvement.
Watched The Wicker Man last night - the original, not the remake, though now I'm kind of considering watching the remake for the lulz 'cause apparently it's bad to the point of seeming a comedy. Anyway, this film definitely wasn't what I was expecting; I knew the general idea of how it would go, but I guess I just assumed it would be more like the horror films I'm used to watching. Fortunately for me, who decided it'd be a bright idea to watch it late at night, it wasn't what I'd expected, and I was spared any nightmares. Must say I was rather startled - and pleased - by the inclusion of the Cuckoo song (Sumer Is Icumen In) at the end... pleased moreso that I recognised it from Middle English class, I mean. In any case, I did like this one quite a bit.
Writing has been going off-and-on this past little while. I have a few different projects I'm working on, and no real idea of when any of them will be done. Still, I've been managing to write almost a page every time I sit down to get stuff done, and that's certainly an improvement over how things were going before. Slow but steady, that's the way.
Need to figure out what to post to the main comm this month, argh. Want to keep up with that resolution to post there once per month. Problem is, I don't really have anything new - I had intended to finish that one FST this month, but never got around to it. I guess I could edit something old, but then it's a matter of deciding which one. Oh, man. WELL maybe I'll figure it out soon.
... I've been having trouble keeping track of what I'm working on right now, so I'll just... make a list here, for my own benefit.

Maybe some of it will be finished... soon. Well, probably not.

Just think of how good it will feel to cross that class of your list once and for all, and keep on truckin' and all that. ♥
INTRIGUED BY ALL OF THOSE FICS
and could you maybe teach me how to write Sweden pleasealso
i agree with noon

And, ehhh I dunno how to teach you how to write Sweden. He's a difficult one, gives me the most trouble out of all of the Nordics, sigh. Like, is there any specific trouble you have, or is it just a general "MAN this guy is difficult"?

fine, with that much agreement, I shall be prepared for some lols and popcorn.gif tonight 8D

General difficulty, which makes it more frustrating. I'm not the best on Nordic history but that's nothing a little extra research can't fix, and I'm pretty sure I can write his grunt-speak better than I've seen it in a few fics (like Poland's valley girl slang, there is a method to it), but I just...can't get in his head. And narration plays so much into my characterization that I just wind up with this big SWEDEN-SHAPED VOID where the prose is supposed to go.
Maybe he's more effective if you don't get into his head anyway. :|a

Ah, yeah, I see what you mean. To be honest, I can't get into his head either. Usually what I default to is having the narration's focus on someone else (derp, can't remember the term. 3rd person limited? But it's limited to someone other than Sweden?) because there's usually someone else there; I don't write him alone. So the narrative is shown through the third-person Norway-Cam, so to speak (or whoever the second person is).
sob I dunno. Sweden, why you gotta' be such a pain in the ass... and not even in the fun way, geeze....

That's all that matters I just admit I am not always confident in my old pieces anymore haha, but from outside perspective if they are enjoyable then that's ok.
