Misc +++

+ Three days off in a row, and I still feel exhausted and as if I didn't accomplish anything (even though I did).

+ Canada Day was weird. A lot of events, including the parade, were cancelled (due to all municipal resources being diverted to deal with the Fort Chipewyan wildfire evacuation in June). And the air quality on Jul 01 was so bad that there was an official notice to stay inside. Bleh. (I stayed inside and did a lot of cleaning.)

+ One fic draft finished, now working on another. Are either of these the zine fic that I should be working on? No.

+ Considering learning how to play chess because this one fic I'm working on deals with it. ...I really need to stop writing things where part of the plot hinges on the outcome of a chess game.

+ It feels like the entire internet is a trashfire lately.

+ Twitter is really going through it, eh. I'll be honest, I mainly don't use it for fandom - it's where I get my municipal announcements. The site's format is great for stuff like that; compact and to-the-point. But if it's borked, I guess I'll just... have to bookmark the municipality's Facebook page and check that daily, or something. (Ugh.)

chess! chess! chess! chess!

I personally recommend lichess for learning chess. It's a bit lesser-known, but unlike chess.com, you can use most of its functionality with a free account. Definitely better for when you are not sure how much you will commit to chess :)

Ah yes, the state of the internet. *pained laughter*
