I have a new computer!

It's SHINY and everything WORKS and I'm kind of amazed.

I really was hoping to get more time out of my old one, but... I was sitting here last night, trying to get it to do what I wanted to do, and I was just SO FRUSTRATED. And then I just took a look at it, and thought to myself, "Okay, ten and a half years is enough".

Anyway. I'm so happy to finally have something that works the way it's supposed to, even if it means having to put up with the inconvenience of transferring files and futzing around to get everything Just Right.

Man, I sure had a lot of digital clutter on the previous computer. I think I'm going to take the opportunity to... clean some of that stuff up. Yeah. If I don't remember what it is or why I had it, out it goes!

(I should do the same thing with my closet soon. ;p )

Ten and a half years is more than I have ever gotten out of a computer!

I got a new drive installed a while ago and I had to transfer a lot of file to ensure I wasn't deleting anything I would want to keep. I have lost /a lot/ over the years and as soon as I get better at backing up files, I start to keep less!

I think my main problem is that I'm kind of disorganized... it'd be easier to figure out what's junk and what's not if I kept my files tidy in the first place. xD

Yay! I find I have a bad habit of hoarding a lot of files and apps, so changing computers/devices is always a good opportunity to clear out all the unnecessary clutter and have a fresh start.

Oh boy, yeah. I sure had a lot of programs on there that I don't need any more. Time for a fresh start!

I got a new computer (well, labtop) semi-recently too, and I feel all of this. I was very attached to my old one, and I had intended on using it at least a few more years before it suddenly died on me, but... it's so nice to have everything fresh and uncluttered and actually running properly. ♥

"Actually running properly" is definitely the most important part... It feels so GOOD to be able to just turn something on and... use it normally, without having to make a ton of accommodations. :O

Congrats on the new computer! Ten and a half years is a really long time, wow.

Moving files to a new computer is the only time I ever clean up my files :p As for my closet, it's always a space issue.

Space is definitely a problem with my closet, too. No matter how much I reorganize, there's still way too much stuff! It's like... a never-ending process, bleh.

ohhhh, congrats!! :D enjoy that shiny new computer feel! 10+ years on a computer is honestly insane - in computer years that thing's not a grandfather, it's a mummy. How delightful is it to have something so quick and speedy? Wishing you luck with your electronic reorganising!

It's honestly mind-boggling how fast this thing is. I AM AMAZED. ...Hopefully it will stay this way for a while.
