Fluff and more fluff
щ(◉Д◉щ) Sometimes I just have to admit to myself: I am ridiculously committed to extremely obscure-canon secondary-character femslash pairings that nobody else in the world cares about, even the people who can remember who those characters are, and that's okay.
BRB, plotting out more Jonna/Riikka. Somehow. THESE TWO are just... so cute. They hardly have any canon interaction but whatever, somehow in my mind they go together like peanutbutter and chocolate and it works. Though admittedly, it's a total candyfloss pairing, so it can be hard to think of plots for them. Whatever. I'll figure something out. Worst comes to worst, I'll just put excessive amounts of it in the awesome aRTD + SSSS Prologue-era crossover I intend to write eventually. Protecting one another as they struggle through the apocalypse! Yes!!!
Or maybe... something that plays off the difference between their personalities. I mean, Jonna's such an utter goofball, and Riikka is just plain sweet (I normally don't call people cinnamon rolls, but Riikka is a total cinnamon roll, there is just no getting around to it). So having them just... interact, and be themselves, could be really fun and cute. But it could be difficult if there isn't some... hm... something going on. Not plot, necessarily, but some kind of progression, some reason for the interaction, some spark or change or - something. And this brings it back around to the whole candyfloss pairing issue.
Or I could write get-together fic, I guess, 'cept I haven't quite decided how I feel that would actually go. They've known one another for most of their lives, since they've grown up in the same village in Buttfuck Nowhere, Finland, so this pairing has a slightly different dynamic than a lot of the other stuff that I ship (as far as canons involving normal human characters go, anyway). Hmm... going to have to think about this.
I ACTUALLY do have an idea I want to write for them, but it's the same premise as a Hannu/Paju fic that I want to do. So, I don't know. On the one hand, even though it's the same basic idea, the two stories will be different. On the other hand... could be kind of repetitive? Oh, whatever, I'm the only person writing in this fandom, it doesn't matter. (Sob)
It's kind of funny, I don't really have a lot of firm go-to ideas/headcanons for when I'm writing aRTD; most of the stuff just varies with whatever story I write. But one that I keep coming back to is "Jonna and Riikka end up happily together forever". And the other one is "Jonna and Hannu dated for a while, but it didn't work out". ...Clearly the conclusion here is that Hannu turned her off from guys forever. (I kid, I kid. Well, mostly. Being in a relationship with him wouldn't be THAT bad... probably.)
Well, I'll think of something. And/or maybe I should ask for this pairing for Chocolate Box exchange? Along with some others of course. Even if it's unlikely to have any result, I'd be at least putting the idea out there. It would be easy for a fanart request, at least, because I would be completely happy with anything cute....
