☆ Today was very relaxing. Aside from cleaning and running a couple of errands, I did nothing but loaf around, read a little, and watch art streams. It was nice! This past week has been so stressful, and I think I really needed to... decompress a bit, I guess you could say. But hooo boy, I'd best not repeat this tomorrow. One day of loafing is quite enough, thank you.

☆ Noms have opened for [community profile] trickortreatex! Whoo! I'm really looking forward to this exchange. The 300-word minimum is just perfect for my tastes right now, really. Now, to get that letter written. I'm not sure how I'll even be able to decide what to request... Narrowing it down is going to be so hard. Especially since this is character-based matching, rather than pairings. Hmmm....

☆ My parents are on vacation, which means that I'm alone in the house, which means I'm able to practice cooking without imposing on anyone or annoying anybody with the mess or using up ingredients that are reserved for something else or subjecting anybody to my failures. Huzzah. It's so ridiculous - I can make desserts just fine; I can't think of a single time I've ever messed up when making something sweet. But cooking actual, you know, food? Well, I'm essentially not allowed to do it unless everyone else is absent or incapacitated, because it usually turns out wrong (not inedible, just... not good). It's not like I'm magically going to get better at it in the span of these few days, of course, but every attempt is one step toward sucking less! Yeah!

☆ Reading: Finished Trans/Portraits*. I was expecting it to be interesting - and it was - but it was also really good. This book is made up of snips of interviews with trans people commenting on various subjects related to being transgender in the USA, and it provides a wide variety of trans perspectives; there was a lot of effort toward showing how broad and varied the experience is, and how there's no singular way to exist. Worth a read if that subject interests you. This book has been on my radar for a while, since the local library has it, but I didn't get around to reading it until now because... well, this book, like most of the other nonfiction LGBT books at our library, is focused on the USA. And while I'm glad that they have these, I'm really more interested in the subject as it applies to Canada, for obvious reasons. So I've been kind of poking around these books and getting frustrated because, argh, this is almost what I want, but not quite.... (Clearly this means I need to research around for titles that are relevant to Canada, and inter-library them or something, but ugh, effort.)

☆ It's starting to get a little bit cooler now. I'm glad for it; for a while there, summer was a little too much for me to handle. Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
yuuago: (Åland - Plotting)
Note to self: posting for [community profile] fandomgiftbox is open through September, and there are Certain Individuals requesting fandoms you can write... why not make an attempt?

Yes, that does sound like a good idea. Now, we just have to see... ehhh might need to dig around for inspiration a bit.

Well. That shouldn't be hard. Minimum wordcount is ~100, and I do like writing drabbles and poetry....

(Let's just ignore that there are a million other things that I should be doing right now.)
yuuago: (Åland - Smile!)
Now that authors for [community profile] raremaleslashex are revealed, I can de-anon the SSSS fic that I wrote:

Reconciliation. [DW crosspost]. G/0+, 2.1k, Emil/Lalli. Emil tries to reach out, and Lalli decides that maybe he forgives him.

A few people guessed this one when it was still anon... I didn't think that my style is that distinguishable, but apparently my friends are good at picking it out. xD

I'm starting to think about what to nom/offer/request for [community profile] trickortreatex... Hmm!

More about that )
yuuago: (SSSS - Niko)
Oof. It was too hot to sleep last night, and I expect it'll be the same this evening. This happens every year, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Anyway....

✿ I picked up Karo's art from the frame shop, and it looks great, and - more importantly - I was able to find a place to put it without having to remove anything else. *_* So, now Sakari and Veeti can keep me company while I waste time on the internet, yay! xD

✿ Signups for [community profile] femslashex are open now. I'm looking forward to poking through the requests, even if I'm not signing up myself. When I think about it, I don't know if I will sign up for [community profile] yuletide this year, either. The last two years have been great, but I'm not sure what I would even request. And if I want to write something, of course I can do treats. So, who knows. It's just nice to take a break from deadlines - aside from self-imposed ones.

✿ I finished three fics this weekend, and I'm really happy about it.
+ The Things We Lost - aRTD gen with Hannu and his mother, set during SSSS's year 0.
+ Complement. Self-indulgent Lalli/Emil/OC fic - Niko is the OC in this case. xD I want to do more with this relationship some time... ehhh maybe later.
+ Two Weeks in Victoria - Not fanfic. Stuff with characters from an original romance thing I've been throwing ideas around for. It's so nice to finally write something (somewhat) substantial with Jacques in it! I'm still having trouble with his voice. He's fun to write, though.

Aaahhh I have so many self-indulgent things that I want to write... Fffffu. Maybe it's a good thing that I'm taking such a break from exchanges. xD
yuuago: (A Redtail's Dream - Hannu)
So, fics for [community profile] raremaleslashex were revealed today. I received three (!), which is amazing in itself. But not only that, they're all really amazing. I'm so lucky. <3

I haven't had much time to read everything yet, so for now, I'm just going to rec my gifts here. More might come in another entry later, maybe. (Unless I decide to dump the other recs on twitter, perhaps.)

A Redtail's Dream
*Both of these are Joona/Hannu, and both of them are SSSS Year 0 crossovers. :D

Harbors. 0+, 1.7k; Ville is there too.
It was only by the soft light of the rising moon that Hannu even saw the figure sitting on the porch outside the cabin, holding a crossbow on his knee as he waited for them.
Reccer's notes: Great atmosphere; just the right amount of comfort + apocalyptic grimness.

Surely Some Revelation. 13+, 4.2k.
The Rash Illness has come to Hokanniemi. A contingency plan of Hannu's leads to some unexpected revelations.
Reccer's notes: Lots of nice worldbuildy bits to chew on; builds up the rest of the village in addition to the main couple really well.

Year in Hereafter
*This one is Jaako/Veeti. Both author and I are aware that the scenes will get hella jossed when the rest of chapter 05 drops but la la la I don't miiiind. xD

In Need For Company. 0+, 1.7k
Jaakko struggles with extending a helping hand to the newcomer at Rautiola. In the end, he's glad he did.
Reccer's notes: I asked for hair-washing. I received hair-washing and it is glorious and lovely and everything I could have wished for. xD And I really like the way the author wrote Jaako (I find him really difficult, so I appreciate that they managed so well with him.)

yuuago: (OzNZ - Friends)
✿ I just realized that, since Monday is off for the stat, and Friday is off according to my regular schedule, I'll have a four-day weekend. Nice! *_* I don't know if I'll do anything useful with this free time, but it's so nice to have - especially since the current week is a little bit stressful.

✿ Speaking of which, I stood in for the receptionist yesterday and Did Not Die. What a relief. It actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to do that job on the regular.

✿ Another one of my fics has been translated into Russian! This time it was Two Under One Sky, that Mad Max+Hetalia crossover that I wrote a few years back. The translation is over here. Ahh it always makes me so happy when people enjoy my works enough to translate them. <3 <3 ...Oh, and this reminds me that I never did write a sequel to that, even though I really wanted to. I should, some time, because for some reason Max/Australia is something I need in my life, I don't know about you.

[community profile] femslashex is in the noms period until Aug 10th, if any of you are interested. I think I'm going to sit this one out, since I'm feeling a little burnt out, but the tagset is really tempting so far. Maybe I'll keep my eyes out for treats. Or things to request for ToTEx when noms open for that. (The Seventh Bride, for example... I came away from it with such a craving for Maria/Sylvie.)

✿ Oh, speaking of Ursula Vernon's works, the print version of The Raven and the Reindeer is out now*. *_*!!! I ordered it, of course, because even though I've read it in electronic form, I so much prefer print. Ahhh I loved this one, and I'm really looking forward to re-reading it.
yuuago: (YiH - Mika - Comfortably share silence)
✿ Solstice has been rain, rain, nothing but rain and gloominess. That's all right; we need rain, always. And I've had to move ritual to the weekend, as usual, because of scheduling. Maybe the weather will be better for it, then. (Forecast says yes.) Anyway, bless you all, etc etc etc.

✿ (Note to self: solstice reading x2. Do it. You know you want to. :D )

✿ Works are finally revealed for Night on Fic Mountain exchange! Yay! My own gift is super cute, I love it. You should all look through the list of fandoms to see if there's anything relevant to your interests. It'll probably be a while before I can get around to reading everything that catches my eye, alas. Not a lot of time on my hands right now....

✿ Speaking of exchanges, signups for [community profile] multifandomdrabble are still open until the 23rd! Come write some bite-sized fic with me. :D

✿ SSSS: we have a hint (toward the bottom of the blog entry) that more information about the Book 2 kickstarter is coming soon. Very exciting! I wish she'd give a more definite date about when we'll get more info, but ah, well. I wonder what kinds of extras will be included in the book this time....

✿ Speaking of SSSS, the recent events are basically "everything is terrible and sad", ffff. Not a lot of Deep Thoughts on the current part of the story, but it sure is difficult to write things "five minutes into the plot's future" so to speak, because I'm having trouble speculating. I wonder when we'll get the new chapter turnover, and also, when we'll get that barrage of pages that was mentioned a few weeks ago.

✿ YiH: Karo posted another preview panel for Ch06, yay! Here's Siiri again. <3 <3 Haha, I think I'm falling in love, oh dear. (I just... really like older women? The sort who have a tough streak. I dunno, man.) Anyway, Karo also says: I'm trying to get Chapter 6 at least 25% done before I continue uploading and finishing Chapter 5. This makes me really happy, because yesssss steady updates. Sure, it means waiting a little longer, but it's going to be so worth the wait!

✿ Aaand... Jáhko and Veeti are getting a cameo in the Odie comic, and the preview of that panel delights me. Voila. They look like they're on a date -- [/cough] I MEAN - well, yes, my shipping goggles are permanently welded to my eyeballs, but whatever, it makes me happy. As much as I normally dislike modern mundane AUs, I might or might not have dropped about 800 words on something inspired by this, and fully intend to finish it. I guess for every rule, there is an exception. xD It's a nice opportunity to draw on the "soulmates across universes" trope, which also isn't necessarily my thing, but for these two, it's just perfect.

yuuago: (SSSS - Lalli - Rest)
Verrrry tired this evening, hooo boy.

Put in the order for my glasses yesterday. Feel a little nervous about it, but only in the ridiculous sort of way. "What if they get the prescription wrong" or somesuch nonsense. Didn't plan on dropping this much cash on something this month, but OH WELL. It's going to be nice to be able to see properly. I'm getting sick of squinting all the time.

Went to a charity walk fundraiser thing today. Been up since 7 and I'm absolutely exhausted. I think I got a sunburn. But the thing went all right, so that's fine.

Was looking forward to getting rest tomorrow, and doing some personal writing for a bit, as well as finishing my entry for that character design thing, but then I remembered that we're going out for breakfast and all sorts of nonsense and I'll probably be Doing Stuff all day again and ughhh okay fine.

Signups for [community profile] multifandomdrabble start tomorrow. Haven't put my requests together but ehhh I'll do it sometime this week. Considering the format, I might very well end up requesting all the fandoms that I like, rather than just a few. We'll see.

Posting for [community profile] pbam starts later this week. It's an amnesty/filling old prompts round, not posting new prompts. Finally finished that thing I wrote for the previous round and hadn't finished on time. I'm looking forward to sharing it.

Next week is going to be busy.

Kind of wish I could sleep through all of it, but well, you know....
yuuago: (DenNor - Be with you)
Received news at work that we're going to be doing an extended maintenance season. What this means: We'll be super busy until August, maybe September. What this also means: I will be busy as hell for longer than expected. (And exhausted, too, as a result, of course).

I know I shouldn't complain - and I am grateful to be able to get overtime auto-approved in this situation - but hoooo boy. I am going to be so tired. It's a good thing this is happening during the summer; I don't think I'd be able to make it through without being able to take sunny evening walks.

Anyway! The Multifandom Drabble Exchange is in noms period - see [community profile] multifandomdrabble for schedule/info. Normally I wouldn't take on another exchange, but I think I'm pretty capable of turning out 100 words in a week. ;) Is anybody else thinking about participating?

Putting this down here so I won't forget )

yuuago: (Small Trolls - Jáhko - Doze)
✿ Exchanges: Signups for the M/M exchange [community profile] raremaleslashex are open from now until June 12th, if anybody's interested in that. My signup/exchange letter is already finished (Voila). I might add art prompts, but still undecided... (I like receiving fanart in exchanges, but I don't feel like adding more to the wishlist. Hm.)

✿ More exchanges: Setup/noms period for [community profile] rarepairfest starts June 1st. I won't be doing this one, since I generally can't handle two exchanges at once, but I might throw something in the tagset just in case. Might be one to consider for those of you who prefer F/M or F/F in your rarepairs. I'll be keeping an eye on it for treating, anyway.

✿ People (in person, not online) keep bugging me about what I'm going to do for my vacation time and... oh, honestly, it's still the busy season at work, I don't even want to think about it. I have no earthly clue. At this point, all I want to do is go to some city I've already been to, and sit in the sun and read and drink good coffee and do absolutely nothing. So it sounds like Victoria again, but I don't know when, and I really wish people would stop asking.

✿ It turns out that I have written far more this month than expected... Almost twice what I intended. Most of it isn't published/finished, of course, but that's not the point. Turns out, my method of estimating wordcount for handwritten pages completely falls apart for anything with zero dialogue. It's just that I didn't discover this until now because I typically don't compare the WIP estimates to the final typed count. In the end, this doesn't really matter, but I find it kind of interesting that I might actually be writing more than expected, at least in terms of raw content. (Now, if only I could finish, like, everything....)

✿ I feel really good lately. After the fire last year, I was an absolute mess, not just mentally, but in other ways too. All this time I've been spending outside lately has been so good for me; every day, I can feel myself getting a little bit stronger. It sucks that this happened, but at least I know things are going to be okay eventually.
yuuago: (YiH - Sakari - Fresh air)
✿ This long weekend was warm and sunny (except for the start of it) and I walked So Much and I am exhausted. But, like, in a good way. Exhausted and relaxed. (Blarrrgh I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. Oh well.)

✿ My mint seeds have finally sprouted! Hooray! I expect that once it catches, it'll grow all right. The rosemary still isn't doing anything. If it continues to not do anything, I guess I'll end up using that pot for some of the pansies I started growing earlier. They'll need to be separated eventually.

✿ I've started my letter for [community profile] raremaleslashex. I never really know what to request until I sit down to do that. This will be my first time requesting original fiction, how exciting.... so far the slots are SSSS, aRTD, and Original; undecided what to put in the fourth one. Hetalia or Year in Hereafter, probably. (I wish YiH weren't so hard to prompt for. I'd probably be happy with anything, and my brain refuses to come up with something specific. "I dunno, just gimme something with Sakari macking on Jaako, that'd be A++" does not a good prompt make, ahaha.)

✿ The State of Yuu recently: busy as fuck on workdays, and then when I'm not working, I hardly want to be on the internet at all. I have been quiet lately, and this is precisely why. (You guys are nice and all, but... sunliiiight...)
yuuago: (YiH - Sakari - Fresh air)
Went out yesterday for some ritual stuff and mucking around in nature... discovered that slippery forest paths are even more interesting when there are rosebushes every-freaking-where and you, by coincidence, forgot to bring the thick gloves that you acquired specifically to deal with this problem. ...But it was all right. The sound of the rain on the stream was very nice. Though the way the wind made the spruce trees creak was a little unnerving. It sounded like they were going to come down on top of me.

I cleaned my room today and (re)discovered that I have way too many books. And most of them, well, I haven't read them. Aaand this leads me to think that I really should stop checking things out of the library, at least for a while, so I can make my way through this backlog. Once I've read something, I'm comfortable ditching it, but in the meantime I have all these piles of books and... yes. I really should take care of this. A lot of it is nonfiction (mainly history), but a good part of it is poetry, and that shouldn't be difficult to get through.

It has been raining all day and I'm in a horrible funk about it. I think, as soon as I have my after-supper coffee, I'll go take a walk outside anyway, just because I'm craving fresh air.

I've been working slowly but steadily on my NoFM exchange fic. Really, I want to start another one - my recip has great taste and I would love to give them two gifts - but I don't know if I would have time to complete two. I know there's roughly a month left, but with work and everything, I'm finding it very difficult to find time to work uninterrupted.

Speaking of exchanges, nom period for [community profile] raremaleslashex starts tomorrow. I'd like to do this one, but it might not be possible with my schedule... we'll have to see.

On an unrelated note, I find it kind of funny how my viewership doubles when I write G-rated fluff of the SSSS juggernaut. It's not that I'm surprised of course; but man, people sure do like Emil/Lalli. Though the fact that the numbers for the fluff were double than the response to the kinky fic of the same length with the same pairing does surprise me - but only a tiny bit (it was a little bit atypical). Normally I don't pay attention to reader response, but since these two things were posted so close together, the differences were more obvious than they otherwise might have been.
yuuago: (YiH - Mika - Comfortably share silence)
Just a bit of linkdumping on this lovely morning~

✿ I recently stumbled over [community profile] 100words, a weekly prompt comm for drabbles (the strictly 100-word kind). Haven't written any yet, but I probably will soon - this week's theme is impending doom, which is perfect for some of my fandoms. :D Perhaps some of you might join me?

[community profile] poetry is a comm for sharing published poetry. (Not your own work - there are other comms for that). I didn't know this one existed until a couple of days ago. Maybe some of you have some things you'd like to throw on my reading feed? I'll try to think of some to do the same. ;)

✿ Nom stage is continuing for [community profile] rareshipsonice (AKA the Yuri on Ice rarepair exchange). Tagset is over here. It's a pretty huge tagset so far, but if you've been thinking about this exchange, might want to check to see if your favourite pairs are in there, and add them if they aren't. (I'm probably going to sign up... or maybe just do treats... hmm.)

✿ Kickstarter promo: Odie is a comic book inspired by Homer's Odyssey, told from the point of view of a corgi trying to get home. :D I'm not familiar with Aaron Sullivan's writing, but the art is by Elli Puukangas and Karoliina Hankonen, who I've recently become a fan of because of their webcomics (Tistow/Small Trolls/Year in Hereafter), so I'm excited about it. There are only a few days left on this one, but it's already fully-funded, so the project is guaranteed to happen.

Aaaand that's it! (And now to stop procrastinating and... get ready for work. Sigh.)
yuuago: (DenNor - Be with you)
☆ Oil plant maintenance season is upon us, and that means overtime. Please expect an exhausted Yuu in your future. Drives me nuts that this will cut into my writing time, but on the upside, more cash is always nice. And keeping on top of the workload. That too. orz Today there was talk of putting some of us on night shift, which... hahaha, NO.

☆ I received my NoFM assignment. I'm delighted with it. Hopefully I'll be able to start writing tomorrow, or at least look over the letter again + do some canon review. I already have some ideas, sort of. And maybe consider treats... (though I suppose I should leave that until I have a draft of something, hm.) This exchange had some initial pinch hits, so if you like small fandoms and have some time to do writing/art, I might suggest checking over at [community profile] nightonficmountain to see if there's anything you can pick up.

☆ There is going to be a YOI rarepair exchange starting up toward the end of the month. Check over at [community profile] rareshipsonice for the preliminary info (IIRC the mod has mostly decided re: schedule etc, but some things might be subject to change). I think this might interest some of you. I haven't decided whether I want to take part myself, but it has a 500-word minimum, which is very doable, so maybe....

☆ Kiraly drew two of my characters and they are adorable* and I am delighted. <3 I should write more things with them. Yes. When I have the time.

☆ It snowed this morning. AGAIN. Insert giant frowny face here. >:( I am not pleased with this development.

Anxiety grumping )

As counter to the whole bunch of kvetching above, here are some nicer things:

☆ I have two potential matches for [community profile] nightonficmountain, as well as somebody that I could treat if I decide to do that, which means I can stop worrying about whether I'll have someone to write for. (There's still plenty of time to sign up, if anybody is interested...! Tag Set and Ao3 profile/FAQ for reference. /nudge)

☆ It's just slightly over a month until Eurovision! Even though it seems like it'll be very Balladvision (according to what I've heard, anyway - I've only listened to maybe two songs), I'm still excited about it. I think this time around I might be able to listen to the semifinals, even if I'm not able to actually watch them. That would be nice. I hate having to skip them and then see everyone throwing their commentary on twitter; it makes me feel like I'm missing out on so much.

☆ My mate Tik is hinting that I should learn Polish. I'm trying to resist, but I think she might be winning. It's ridiculous, considering I haven't been spending time on Norwegian, so I shouldn't pick up another - but it couldn't hurt to learn some basics, so that I can at least understand how to pronounce everything properly... But this is how it starts. (And she's hinting that picking up Ukrainian would be easier if I know basics of at least one Slavic language. I'm still unsure if I want to even try to learn Ukrainian, but still, maybe -- she's so devious. And she knows me too well.)

[personal profile] straightforwardly reminded me about the existence of the game Never Alone*, which I've been meaning to play for ages, but forgot about for a while there. It's set in the arctic, and it's inspired by traditional Iñupiat lore, and the screenshots look so pretty... basically it's everything I love in one nice package. It might be a while before I get to this one, but I really am going to have to play it one of these days.

✿ Noms for the [community profile] nightonficmountain close on April 1st, so if you're thinking about signing up for that one and haven't added anything to the tag set, there's still a bit of time. (NOFM is a multifandom exchange centred on rare/small fandoms, for the record. ...I'm going to request so much obscure stuff, hot damn.)

✿ Camp NaNo starts tomorrow. I'm VERY excited about it. As to whether I'll actually make my wordcount goal... that is questionable. Going to have to get into the habit of writing every day - again. This will be hard. ;V

✿ Random music rec: Í Tokuni by Eivør, a singer from the Faeroe Islands. I stumbled across her music recently, and ahhh she has a pretty cool voice. <3 Her sound is very... I'm not sure what to call it. Ethereal, I suppose one could say. There is also an English version of this song, Into the Mist, which will be released on the English version of her album Slør in late May (the Faroese version was released in 2015). I think I prefer her work in Faroese, and if I end up picking up one of her albums it'll probably be the original version of Slør, though she of course sounds great in English too.

✿ Tumblr user drepedetihjel drew fanart inspired by one of my SSSS poems about Ensi and Veeti (Second Sight) and I can't get over how cool this is. <3 <3 <3 (Note to self, link it in the actual fic post later.)

[personal profile] minutia_r is hosting a Multifandom Poetry Prompt Fest over here. Leave a prompt, write some poetry, have fun! :D I'm definitely going to do some writing for this, ahhh. <3 (Not tonight, though. Work left me exhausted, again.)

☆ The yarn that I ordered arrived, hooray~ Well, that was fast, which is nice. I'll have to really get to work on that scarf, so that I can also do the hat to go with it! In addition to the blue Arroyo, I ordered a skein of Malabrigo Mechita in "Glitter", a lovely bronze-and-gold yarn, to go with the skein that I bought in Victoria last year. I'm thinking I'll do a similar thing with that one - scarf-and-hat combo. Or a cowl and hat. Or something. Fingerless gloves, maybe (even though I love wearing them but hate making them). Some kind of set, at any rate. It's a beautiful shade that will go with almost everything.

☆ It seems like every PokeGo player in Fort Mac has a Blissey, except for me. Okay, okay, that's an exaggeration, but I sure have been seeing a lot of them stuffed into gyms as of late. People probably managed to pick up a Chansey or two during the Valentines event. I'm terribly disappointed that I never even saw one at all. It's so good that we're going to be getting nice weather soon, because I really want to start walking outside again, and hopefully hatch one. It was above zero today (!) so hopefully that time will come soon. Upside, I hatched a Scyther today - my second one ever! Nice.

☆ SO many mixed feelings about my writing as of late. I have three fully-written drafts in my wip folder, but no desire to work on them whatsoever. And ditto for most of my in-progress things. It's probably just that I'm still coming off from that cold (coughing every five minutes, how fun) but it's a terribly annoying feeling. Ah, well, I'll beat these stories into submission eventually!

☆ Real life has been making it difficult to keep up with the internet - as mentioned earlier in the entry, work has been leaving me exhausted; in fact, I think I might go in for some overtime on Friday. Hard to say. So, please excuse if I don't reply to your entries and so on. I hope you're all doing well. <3
yuuago: (Norway - Map)
☆ Starting to feel better, FINALLY. I'm still coughing a lot, but by this point it's like, mostly a reflexive thing. Urghhwarblglarbl.

☆ I gave up on the Curiosity scarf that I had in-progress, and unravelled it, and started over. This one SHOULD be possible to do in one skein of Arroyo, but I wasn't managing it. I jumped down two sizes below the recommended needles and... it looks like now I'm able to work the recommended gauge. Lovely. xD Ahhh I'm still not used to actually paying attention to gauge... but if I want to do this scarf properly (without running out) then I guess I'm going to have to.

☆ Speaking of which, in a fit of craziness I ordered more Malabrigo Arroyo in the same dark blue, and I think I'll try making this hat to go with it. I like the bit in the description that says you can spend a lot of it just comfort knitting - that sounds reassuringly relaxing. :) Soooo hopefully when I start that one (whenever it'll be) that will go well.

☆ Kiraly drew an adorable Jonna/Riikka picture for me, which is posted over here. I can hardly wait for her to mail me the original, eee. <3 I realized today that I've only written two stories with them, which is a travesty and I must remedy this ASAP. xD

☆ A random fic rec: As Long As You Like by Kiraly. Author's summary is: A week after their first encounter on the ferry, Michael and Signe meet again. Some things have changed. Some things haven't. Goooo read it, it's a lovely fic with this pair - very true to character, and basically the continuation of their story to a part that I wish we'd been able to see. ...Yes, I'm only just now getting around to reading stuff from Chocolate Box. ;p
*I think that it's possible to enjoy this one even if you aren't familiar with Stand Still Stay Silent - all you need to know is that there was an illness spreading rapidly through Europe (and the rest of the world), and that these two met on a ferry that was bound for Bornholm, and they weren't able to return to the mainland because Denmark closed its borders.

☆ Noms start March 15th for [community profile] nightonficmountain if anyone's interested. Schedule is here. This is a small/rare/inactive fandoms exchange - always nice to see those. Unsure if I'll sign up for this one, but I'll be keeping my eye out for people to potentially treat.
